What is it?
Medicine is the study of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses and injuries in humans. Physicians work to preserve and restore the health of their patients.
During the course of your studies, you will be trained both scientifically and practically. After finishing your degree program, you will undergo specialty training in your discipline of choice before you can practice medicine independently.
Starting in winter term 2019/20, the Faculty of Medicine offers two degree programs Medicine:
- Medicine: The traditional program with clinical education at the Universitätsklinikum Erlangen
- Medicine Erlangen-Nürnberg/Bayreuth: New degree program with clinical education at the Medical Campus Upper Franconia in cooperation with the Campus Hospital Bayreuth.
The preclinical parts of both programs are taught in Erlangen.
The language in both medicine degree programs is German.
